The Hollywood Regency design trend has been back with us for a minute, spearheaded by the likes of Jonathan Adler and Kelly Wearstler. It is a luxurious look that features high shine and glam details. While the original offshoot of Art Deco style worked around a palatte of blacks and creams, this recent revamp injects bright color. One landing spot for this color is on faux bamboo pieces, such as the Jonathan Adler etagere shown here. While I like the energy and glamour of these faux bamboo pieces, I'm seeing them everywhere--and it's getting a little overdone. What would would an issue of Elle Decor be without some Adler faux bamboo chairs, preferably painted bright yellow? And, at $500 a pop, they're fun but not a great investment piece. Perhaps a better way to take part in the trend is with a more reasonably priced piece like this faux bamboo valet I found on etsy for $75. The silver leaf finish makes it a little easier to work into a room setting and if you're over it in a year or two, it's a little less painful to leave behind.
