Nutmeg is "spice non grata" in my household. Anytime I add nutmeg into things-pie, pancakes, a bechamel sauce, I get a sad face. The reason, scented candles. One holiday potpourri has made nutmeg the most hated of spices. I'm just glad cinnamon came out unscathed.

No trip to Coronado Island is complete without a visit to the Hotel del Coronado. The hotel opened in 1888 and is one of the oldest Victorian structures still in existence. Unlike most Victorians, the hotel's facade is a clean, crisp white. Perfect for a beach side resort, but it means you have to look closer to appreciate all the detail One question I get asked frequently is how to make children's rooms age gracefully. They're kids, so tastes can change pretty quickly and today's favorite is tomorrow's "ugh, gross". One way to avoid such pitfalls is to make the investment pieces neutral and add the drama with accessories.
I received an email from a family who just purchased a new apartment and were looking to redo their living room and dining nook.
