A few weeks ago I made it over to the Griffith Observatory for a few hours of hiking and exploring. It's a beautiful building that's free to the public--entry, parking, the whole bit. Got to love a deal, right? Scenes from Rebel Without A Cause were shot here. There's even a bust of James Dean with a plaque that looks absolutely nothing like him. It looks just like Lionel Richie. No, I'm kidding. I'd like to go back in the early evening and catch the sunset. I bet it would be amazing. Plus then I could actually use the giant telescope to see something. I won't have any idea what I'm looking at, but that impressive telescope is bound to show me something good. There are all different trails around the Observatory, depending on the length and difficulty, thought I had a little trouble locating the different trail heads once I was there. Still, pack a lunch, grab some water, and make a day of it!
