Perhaps I am a bit late to the party, but have you all heard of Etsy? It's a fabulous website that features handmade work from artisans and craftsmen. After my "scolding" a few weeks ago about mass marketed antiques, I thought it only fair to provide an alternative. It's easy to get overwhelmed by the amount of product featured there. Trust me, there's a lot. But it's also amazing how many people are out there, creating beautiful things. Those of you wanting to avoid that mass marketed look (though even I recognize there's a place for Ikea), this is a fantastic way to decorate with something special and unique. There's a wide variety of price points (just look carefully at the quality on those super "bargains"), so you can definitely find something in your budget. In addition to home decor items, there's jewelry, glassware, clothing, etc. Holiday season is coming (I know, I'm not ready to accept it yet, either) and this could be a great resource for gifts.
