the lanterns hung above the tables at varying heights
the swagged fabric to create drama
the red glasses that repeat the color
the variety of textures (silk, metal, rough wood, glass) to add interest
Here's what I'm less sure of:
the carts loaded with dishes in between the two tables. It just reminds me a little to much of the dim carts in Chinatown. Oh, and the random guy meditating.
I remember there was something very similar to this at last year's show that natural, shibui, look that was more effective. Here's a shot of last year's table.
