Hat tip to my friend Katie for pointing me toward the Antiques section of Craigslist.
It's pretty common knowledge that if you're looking for gently (or highly) used Ikea furniture, Craigslist is a good place to check out. But if your taste veers a little higher end, well Craigslist is still a good place to start--just not the furniture page. A $75 desk found on Craigslist. Instead, take a peek at the "antiques" section. There's everything from Mid Century to Victorian with prices ranging from about $50 to a couple thousand, depending on the item. And not a single piece of Ikea to be found.
