But now I've got a matching set of glassware to remind me of some excellent travels. Cocktails, anyone?
During my trip to Kansas City last month, I planned a visit to Urban Mining Housewares. I hoped to find some vintage glassware but reminded myself to stay open-minded because flea markets are not a place to go with firm agenda. I like glassware because it's easy enough to transport or ship back home. Two years ago, on a visit to Cleveland, I found a fabulous set-8 glasses, ice bucket and chrome carrier in excellent condition for $28. Never mind that it would have easily cost me double that in NYC. Brass accented glassware set from Urban Mining Housewares When I got to the store in KC, I looked around to see what caught my eye. After a little searching, I found the set pictured right on the second floor, all the way in the back, tucked into a cabinet. I didn't even consider that it was a companion to my existing set until I started wrapping the glasses to ship back to New York. I think I was still so excited to find another vintage set under $30, I just snatched it up. Seriously, for furniture, it's cheaper to fly to the Midwest, buy it and ship it home.
