Image courtesy Traditional Home If you've got a room with lots of empty walls, it can be difficult to figure out a way to add interest without a lot of repetition. I'm all for a series of artwork hung evenly spaced as a group. But there comes a time when the question becomes: how many little rectangles does one room need? One possible solution--decorative plates. Image courtesy decorpad.com Whether it's a group entirely composed of decorative plates, as shown here or a mixed arrangement of plates and artwork, as shown above, decorative plates are a great option. And don't think that they are only good for traditional spaces. This picture here shows how using simple plates, carefully arranged in a starburst pattern, fits right in with this contemporary living room. If you find mixed sets of china at thrift stores or maybe at a place like Home Goods, an arrangement of decorative plates is a great way to display them. Just stop by a hardware store and buy appropriately sized plate hangers.
