One of the design magazines, I think it's House Beautiful, has a feature that's titled "Why Don't You...." that offers some fun suggestions of things to try in your home. These aren't major investment items but instead small things that add a little flavor to what you've already got going on. Well, in the interest of avoiding a possible intellectual property conflict, I've tweaked it a bit. For instance, you know what you should try? Something purple. You know what else you should try? Changing out your pillow fills for ones in a down blend. If you don't have allergy or conscientious objections, I highly endorse them. This one from Ikea is only $6.99. And finally, you should try coralling some of your less than lovely (but still necessary things) in an stylish storage container. Keep your remote controls, house keys or nail files within reach, but not in plain sight. Less visual clutter means more focus on the attractive focal points in your home.
